ELK CREEK — Authorities in Mingo County spent more than five hours searching for a 13-year-old girl who went missing in the Elk Creek area on Thursday morning.

According to a post on the Mingo County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page, Emily White went missing in the Elk Creek area around 10 a.m. and was located safely just before 4 p.m.

Both the Sheriff’s Department and the Delbarton Volunteer Fire Department were involved in the search.
