NEW RICHMOND - It would be hard to find anything wrong with Westside's play in its Class AA Region 3, Section 1 matchup with archrival Wyoming East on Thursday night.

When push came to shove, Wyoming East just did it a little better.

A night after getting shut out by Independence, Wyoming East mustered only two runs until the seventh inning.

Trailing 4-2, and facing elimination at the hands of the county rival it handled by a combined 31-2 in the regular season (13-1 and 18-1), Wyoming East finally put together a good inning, as Chase York's two-out base hit scored McQuade Canada and Clay Lester with the tying runs.

An inning later, Canada, who was 4 for 5 with a double and two runs, chased home freshman Tanner Whitten with the winning run.

Canada also started on the mound, but was relieved to save his pitch count but had to be reinserted on the mound to close out Westside's big inning.

Westside had scored twice in the seventh to take a 4-2 lead after Spencer Kenney tied it in the top of the sixth, scoring Hunter Bailey.

Matt Caldwell had two hits to extend his hit streak to 19 games, and he had RBI singles in the first and third innings to give the Warriors a 2-1 lead.

Hunter Bailey had a sac fly RBI in the first to give the Renegades a 1-0 lead.

Chandler Harvey put together a tour de force on the mound for Westside, going seven strong innings and only giving up three hits before he was knocked out by the pitch count rule.
