EAST WILLIAMSON - The Williamson Fire Department is investigating the cause of a structure fire at 514 Goodman Ave. that occurred around 12 :15 a.m. Friday.

The property is owned by John Dilion, according to WFD Chief Joey Carey.

"The first arriving fire engine found heavy fire and smoke coming from both windows at the front apartment," Carey said. "They we able to perform a quick interior attack and brought fire under control within approximately 10 minutes. We had three trucks and 10 firefighters to respond."

"The cause is undetermined at this time, still being investigated. The apartment was currently vacant," Carey said.

The WFD had another call about 6 p.m. Thursday on Little Oak Street. "We received a call of large amount of smoke coming from that area. Upon investigation, we found a property owner was burning vegetation he had cleared away from his home," Chief Carey said.
