Rod McCoy, an accountant for Mingo County Schools, gave a PowerPoint presentation to the board of education about the proposed levy rates for the next fiscal year at Tuesday's regular meeting at Cinderella Hollow.

In accordance with the provisions of West Virginia Code 11-8-12, the proposed levy rates for the fiscal year 2019-20 were presented in order to submit them to the State Board of Education and the State Tax Commissioner for approval.

Once the state approves the levy rates, then the Mingo County BOE will reconvene a special meeting and can officially approve them. The next scheduled meeting for the BOE is Tuesday, April 16.

The school levy was approved during last November's general election. The new fiscal year starts July 1, 2019.
