BAISDEN — A Mingo County man has been charged with multiple counts of sexual assault against a minor after he allegedly engaged in sexual acts with his stepdaughter over a span of seven years.
Jamey Lester, 45, of Baisden was arrested Sept. 24 and charged with 10 counts of third-degree sexual assault against a minor, one count of sexual abuse by a minor and one count of attempted sexual abuse by a guardian by the Williamson Detachment of the West Virginia State Police, according to a criminal complaint filed in Mingo County Magistrate Court.
According to the complaint, the victim’s mother contacted the WVSP after her daughter told her she had been sexually assaulted by Lester multiple times throughout her life between 2011-2018.
The victim told the trooper that the first incident occurred when she was 11, according to the report.
The victim also told the trooper that 10 or more times Lester had rubbed her legs with lotion and would run his hands up her leg and touch her private area.
Lester was arraigned by Magistrate Dave Justice and was placed in the Southwestern Regional Jail but has since been released on bond. Trooper R.L. Johnson of the WVSP was the investigating officer.

ASSAULT, ROBBERY: Robert Dillon, 39, of Kermit was arrested and charged with first degree robbery, assault, burglary, brandishing a deadly weapon, grand larceny and being a prohibited person with a firearm by the WVSP. According to the complaint, Dillon allegedly broke into a residence at Forrest Place Apartments and robbed a victim at gunpoint, demanding the keys to a 2008 Chevy Camaro. The defendant also has a breaking and entering conviction on his record from February 2001.
DOMESTIC BATTERY: Derek Neal Morrison, 40, of Gilbert was arrested and charged with domestic battery, domestic assault and brandishing a deadly weapon by the Mingo County Sheriff’s Department. According to the arrest report, Morrison pulled a pistol on his wife, threatened her and squeezed her by the head causing bodily harm.
INDECENT EXPOSURE: Fed Lee Blevins, 38, of Williamson was arrested and charged with indecent exposure, three counts of assault and obstructing an officer, disorderly conduct and public intoxication by the Williamson Police Department after he allegedly climbed on the stage during the King Coal Festival and began removing his clothes while a band was performing. The defendant was forcefully restrained and attempted to strike and kick officers several times.
ASSAULT ON OFFICER: Chester Shirley Lester, 30, of Baisden was arrested S and charged with assault on an officer and simple possession by the WVSP.
DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: Seth H. McCoy, 19, of Turkey Creek, Kentucky, was arrested and charged with destruction of property and trespassing by the MCSD.
TRESPASSING: Kimberly D. New, 43, of Baisden was arrested and charged with trespassing by the MCSD.
DRIVING REVOKED: John Lewis Tincher, 45, of Williamson was arrested and charged with driving revoked DUI second offense and driving suspended second offense by the WVSP.
BREAKING AND ENTERING: Misty Waller, 42, of Kermit was arrested and charged with breaking and entering, destruction of property and petit larceny by the WVSP.
SIMPLE POSSESSION: Samantha Leanna Sexton, 32, of Williamson was arrested and charged with two counts of obstructing and simple possession by the MCSD.
