WILLIAMSON — An accident that occurred Friday morning on 2nd Ave. in Williamson resulted in a SUV colliding with the side of the Community Trust Bank, close to the area where the drive-thru lanes are located.

The accident was investigated by Williamson Police Department Patrolman D. Paige and J. Taylor, who told the Daily News the report has yet to be finalized. The information released at this point states that the driver of the 2011 Kia SUV was Darrell Rakes, and his single passenger was identified as Stephen Maynard. The vehicle sustained moderate to severe front end damage. The bank building was also damaged but the cost of repairs is not known at this time, according to a Community Trust employee.

The passenger is said to have suffered injuries to his neck, back and shoulder area. He was transported to the Williamson Memorial Hospital where he was treated and released.
