Miners pound Huskies 57-38

NEWTOWN – The Mingo Central Miners got back on the winning side as they pounded visiting Herbert Hoover 57 to 38.

The Miners broke out of a losing slump with the Cardinal Conference victory at home.

No individual stats were called in on the game. Austin Banks led the Miners with 17 points, while Alex Lee scored 14. Marqus Cunningham had 10 points and hit the boards well, according to assistant coach Julius “Boo” Hatcher.

Mingo Central is now 7-5 on the season. They played Ripley on Saturday in the Hatfield-McCoy Shootout. They travel to Mount View on Friday.
