Man killed in Pike wreck

PIKEVILLE, Ky. — A man was killed and four people were treated for injuries following a collision last week on U.S. 23, south of Pikeville.

Kentucky State Police reports that Ronald Caudill was attempting to make a left turn last Wednesday onto U.S. 23, when his 2005 Ford Expedition pulled into the path of a 2002 Mercedes being driven by Andrew Logan, 66.

Logan, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene by Pike County Coroner Russell Roberts.

Caudill and three passengers in his vehicle were transported to Pikeville Medical Center, where they were treated for injuries sustained int he wreck.

KSP Trooper Bryan Layne is investigating the wreck. He was assisted at the scene by Trooper Hoyt Smith, Transtar Ambulance, Questcare Ambulance and the Shelby Valley Fire Department.
