A man who is investing billions of dollars in the local coal industry has been implemented in the ever widening Gen. Petraeus scandal.

Petraeus resigned as head of the CIA after admitting he had had an affair with Paula Broadwell. Broadwell had allegedly sent threatening emails to a woman in Florida, Jill Kelley, who she thought may be a rival for Petraeus’ affections.

The plot has thickened to include a local connection.

Adam Victor, president and CEO of TransGas Development Systems, is a New York businessman who was managing a multi-billion-dollar Korean business deal related to coal gasification plants. He is also investing $4 billion in Adams Fork Energy, a coal-to-liquid plant planned for Mingo County.

When constructed, the facility that will convert 7,500 tons of regional coal into premium grade ultraclean gasoline, producing 18,000 barrels per day (756,000 gallons).

The project is a post-mine-land-use project of the Mingo County Redevelopment Authority (MCRA).

Victor met Kelley at the Republican National Convention in Tampa in August. According to ABC News, Jill Kelley dropped Gen. Petraeus’ name, saying that Petraeus had arranged for her to become an honorary consul for South Korea in order to promote free trade.

Victor said he Kelley requested fee to help him broker a deal with Korea. While Victor thought it made sense to have a trusted aide in charge of promoting free trade, trouble came when when Kelley named her fee for brokering the deal. The entire deal was worth $4 billion.

Kelley requested Victor pay a 2 percent fee. Victor said he felt the fee, $80 million, was exorbitant and terminated their relationship.

Kelley has also been accused of running a bogus charity allegedly to fund political parties all the while living a lavish lifestyle.

Adam Victor is a snake, don't give into him Mingo!! In the 90's he developed a power plant in Syracuse NY called Project Orange. In 2010 Syracuse evicted Victor and Project Orange from it's city owned site, to gain insight into how a "business man" like Victor operates research the law suit that developed around him and his company, Project Orange. In early 2000 Victor and his company, TransGas Energy, tried to build a power plant in my Brooklyn, NY neighborhood, we fought him and won! More about that here: http://www.stopthepowerplant.org/

Ms. Goad---In line three, I think you mean "implicated", not "implemented". Been hanging out with Rachel? I don't think anyone is going to be investing $4 billion in a coal to liquid fuel plant. Everyone, except Pike Judge Exec Rutherford, knows that this process is cost prohibitive. Coal would have to be available at $10 per ton, like the Powder River Basin coal, before the liquification process would be anywhere near economically feasible, and even at that cost for coal, the resultant fuel would have to be sold at more than $25 per gal. Don't take my word for this, you are allegedly a journalist so do some research. That's what I do. Notify me when the first gallon of fuel is produced at this nefarious "plant", and I promise to have six super good pizzas, from Pizza Time, delivered to the WDN. Nice suit Mr. Victor is wearing, but methinks he be a snake oil salesman!

I can guarantee that Victor has invested little if anything into Mingo, and I don't think "implicated" is the the word to describe Victor's involvement with the Petraeus scandal. More likely than not Adam Victor leaked the story to show that he is a well connected important business man, the truth is, he is the son of rich Brooklyn Socialites with one failed business adventure under his belt. As with Watergate: follow the Money...if there is any! And oh yeah, if you all in Mingo want an investment, we have a bridge for sale here in Brooklyn; )
