Artists Collaborative Theatre is bringing their popular production of Pump Boys and Dinettes to the Rhododendron Conference Center at Breaks Park on Saturday, November 17 in a special dinner-show presentation. Tickets are on sale now.

The dinner show performance will feature all the original cast, and will serve as a fundraiser for the ACT Theatre, a non-profit community theatre proudly serving the east Kentucky and southwest Virginia region.

Written and composed by John Foley, Mark Hardwick, Debra Monk, Cass Morgan, John Schimmel, and Jim Wann, Pump Boys and Dinettes is a fun musical about four men who work at a gas station and two waitresses at the “Double Cupp Diner”, a dinette. Both places are located on Highway 57, somewhere between Frog Level and Smyrna, North Carolina. The four guys at the station, Jim, Jackson, Eddie and L.M., have been known to do some auto repairs, but only when aided by quantities of time and beer. The Cupp sisters, Prudie and Rhetta, celebrate their home cooking with the same zeal they bring to being neighborly with the boys.

Part musical, part concert, part review, part theatre, and 100% amazing, the six characters in Pump Boys & Dinettes transform an ordinary, typical, and otherwise boring day into an occasion that you’ll be sure to talk about months later. This is their musical tribute to life by the roadside! The music is mostly from the country/rock pop music genres.

The cast of Pump Boys and Dinettes features Randall Ramey as Jim, who owns the station with L.M., played by Adam Adkins. Also featured are Treyton Blackburn as Jackson, Lauren Brooke Stewart as Prudie Cupp, and Sarah Ellen Norman Vasquez as Rhetta Cupp. Allie Sesco is Understudy.

Included in the ticket price is a buffet dinner, which will be served in the Rhododendron Conference Center prior to the show. Dinner will feature Roast Beef pot roast with potatoes and carrots, Ham, mashed potatoes with gravy, green beans, and corn. Assorted desserts, rolls and drinks are also included.

Doors will open at 6 p.m. and dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. The show will begin after dinner has been served.

Tickets are $50 each, and may be purchased by calling Breaks Park at 276-865-4413 ext. 3206. Seating is limited, and advance reservations are required. Company tables and sponsorships are available.
