Louise Glover of Charlestown, Ind. formerly of Stone, Ky. died Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2010 in Indiana.
Funeral services were held on Friday, Sept. 17, 2010 at the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church in Charlestown, Ind. and burial followed in Indiana.
She was the daughter of the late Tilden and Sara Chapman Goff.

Tony Keith Harmon, 48 of North Matewan, Saturday September 18, 2010 at his home.
Born June 9, 1962 in Williamson, the son of the Joshua Paul Commander of Chesapeake, Va. and Maggie Harmon of Red Jacket. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother Irene Barath
His survivors include his wife: April Sparks Harmon of North Matewan; daughter: Candis Harmon of Buskirk, Ky.; and his brother: Andrew (Pearl) Harmon of Red Jacket.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, Sept. 23, 2010 at 1 p.m. at the First Assemblies of God of North Matewanwith Pastor Lowell Sparks officiating. In honoring Tony's request he will be cremated.

Octavia Marcum Kirk, 83, formerly of Delbarton, passed away Sept. 4, 2010 in Okalahoma City, Okla.
She was born July 11, 1927 the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Marcum.
The funeral was held Sept. 11, 2010 and the burial was at the Sunset Cemetery in Galloway, Ohio.

Joyce May
Joyce May, 66 of Canada, Ky. passed away Monday, September 20, 2010 at her residence.
She was born January 30, 1944 in Pike County, Ky., the daughter of the late Fritz and Gabrielle Ratliff Varney. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Geraldine Mullins and Shirley Varney.
Joyce was retired having worked at Taylor's Jewelry and she was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Harold May of Canada, Ky.; son, Harold "Bucky" Gena May of Canada, Ky.; daughter, Nancy Wallace of Matewan; brothers, James Floyd Varney of Morehead, Ky., Glen Varney and Emery Varney both of Canada, Ky. and Robert Varney of Paintsville, Ky.; sisters, Joan Varney of Port Clinton, Ohio, Deborah May and Loretta Hiers both of Canada, Ky., Jacqueline Coleman of Kimper, Ky. and Anita Wolford of Michigan whom she helped to raise; four grandchildren, Brad (Amanda) Stanley, Kari (Justin) Cook, Justin May and Gabrielle May and eight great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 24, 2010 at the R. E. Rogers Funeral Home Chapel with Emery Varney and Robert Varney officiating. Burial will follow in the Varney Cemetery, Canada, Ky. with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held after 6 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at the Funeral Home Chapel with special services Wednesday night at 7 p.m. with Raymond Stanley and Thursday night at 7 p.m. with Mike Smith.

Leona Ratcliff
Leona Jarrell Ratcliff, 81 of Crum, passed away Sept. 19, 2010 at her home.
Born Jan. 26, 1929 in Martin County, Ky., she was a daughter of the late Roy and Ellen Short Jarrell. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by her husband, James Walter Ratcliff of Crum as well as a daughter, Wanda Joyce Caralivahos of Shawboro N.C. as well as three grandsons and three great-grandchildren. She is survived by a sister, Cilia May Smith of Virginia Beach, Va.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, Sept. 23, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the Richmond-Callaham Funeral Home, Warfield Chapel with Joe Mullins officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. View Memory Gardens of Maher.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Randall Lee Thacker, Jr., 31 of North Matewan, died Saturday, Sept. 18, 2010.

Glen Wolford
Glen Wolford, 75 of Red Jacket, passed away Monday, September 20, 2010 at his residence.
He was born February 22, 1935 at Phelps, Ky., the son of the late Dock and Mary Dotson Wolford. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Leona Lee Wolford and his mother and father-in-laws, Austin and Phoebe Lee and Macie Macado and Marie Daniels; sister, Eula Mae Charles and brother, Arthur Wolford.
He was a retired coal miner from Old Ben Coal Company, No. 11 Thacker having worked for 47 years. He was of the Pentecostal Faith.
Survivors include his wife, Loretta Daniels Wolford of Red Jacket; daughters, Venita (Dwaye) Chapman of Hardy, Ky., Mary Lou Campbell of Dixon, Tenn. and Mary Elizabeth Petterson of Turkey Creek, Ky.; sons, Johnny (Pam) Wolford of Stone, Ky. and Michael Dock Wolford of Alabama; step son, T. J. McCoy of Freeburn, Ky.; 20 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, September 23, 2010 at the Faith Mission Church, McCarr, Ky. with Dwayne Chapman, David Stratton, Opie Ray Harris and Jimmy Fields officiating. Burial will follow in the Harris Cemetery, No. 11, Thacker with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held after 5:30 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at Faith Mission Church, McCarr, Ky. with special services both nights at 7 p.m.
