   Austin Runyon

Austin Cliff Runyon 8, of Hardy, Ky., passed away Friday August 13, 2010 at Logan W. Va.. He was born November 7, 2001 at South Williamson, Ky. to Barry Cliff Runyon of Turkey Creek, Ky., and Cynthia Arlene Starr Fite of Hardy, Ky. He was a third grade student at Southside Grade School and loved monster trucks, baseball and the Boy Scouts.

     He is survived by his mother and step father; Cynthia Arlene (Chris) Fite of Hardy, Ky., father and step mother; Barry Cliff (Amanda) Runyon of Turkey Creek, Ky., two brothers; Nicholas Ryan Runyon and Zachary Alan Fite of the home; grandparents; Paul and Arlene Starr of Maher, W.Va., Jeannie and Dale Newsome of Lenore, W. Va., Dennis and Norene Fite of Hardy, Ky., Alfred Smith of Pritchard, W. Va., Kathy Trout of Williamson, W. Va. and a host of family and friends.

     Funeral services will be held 12 noon on Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at the First Baptist Church of Belfry with Rev. Mark Helton officiating.  Burial will follow in the Mountain View Memory Gardens, Maher, WV with Dylan Kulik, timmy Starr, Josh Starr and Eric Starr serving as pallbearers.  Visitation will be held from 6 till 9 PM Sunday and Monday at the First Baptist Church of Belfry with special services Monday night at 7 PM with George Terlizzi officiating.  R.E. Hal Epling Jr.

Hal B. Epling, Jr., 86, of Williamson, died on Thursday, August 12, 2010, at the Appalachian Regional Hospital in South Williamson, KY.

Born April 14, 2010, at Pinsonfork, KY, he was the son of the late Hal B. Epling, Jr. and Lucy May Epling.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Cecil Epling.

Hal was retired from Persinger Supply Company where he was employed as the TV Repair

Service Manager.  He was also the owner/operator of Epling TV Services and C & E TV Services.  He was inducted into the United States Navy on June 22, 1943 and served this nation aboard the U.S.S. Jouett during World War II.  He was honorably discharged on April 16, 1946.  He was of the Baptist faith and was a member of the Williamson Moose Lodge and the American Legion.  He was commissioned as a Kentucky Colonel on March 23, 1962.

Hal is survived by his devoted wife, Helen Cleghon Epling; one daughter, Diana Epling of Williamson and one son, William Epling of Portland, OR, and two sisters, Mary Gregory of Columbus, OH and Ethel Mamora of Cincinnati, OH.

The family will receive friends on Monday evening, August 16, 2010, from 6 to 9 pm at Weaver Mortuary in West Williamson.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Tuesday afternoon, August 17, 2010, at the mortuary.  The Reverend Franklin Mounts will officiate.

Burial will follow at the Mountain View Memory Gardens at Maher, WV.  Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Olie Blackburn

Olie Pam Blackburn, 48, of Betsy Layne, Ky passed away August 13, 2010 at Martin, KY. She was born March 10, 1962 at Detroit, MI, the daughter of the late Carl and Dora Coleman Blackburn.

She was a homemaker.

Her survivors include sons, Roscoe Slone and Clifton Estep of Phelps, KY, Brothers, James Blackburn of Delbarton, WV and Sammy Blackburn of Chattaroy, WV. Sisters, Shelvia Blackburn of Delbarton, Rebecca May of Betsy Layne, KY, Dorena Zeck of Big Splint, WV, and Tammy Blackburn of Prestonsburg, KY.

4 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Monday August 16, 2010 at 1:00pm at the Chafin Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Eddie Layne officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackburn Cemetery at Huddy, KY.

Visitation will be at the Funeral Home Chapel from 6-9pm Sunday evening.
