Williamson area residents looking to beat the heat one last time can do so Monday, Aug. 16 the STOP Coalition's 'Bash and Splash' at the Williamson City Pool.

The event will begin at 12 p.m. and last until 5 p.m. Admission is free with the donation of any school supplies, even a pencil. STOP will donate all school supplies received to Mingo County schools.

This is the third year STOP has organized the event and it has grown each year. The first year, the event had over 100 patrons attending and approximately 150 attended the second year. STOP hopes the tradition will continue.

The Williamson City Pool's last official day is Sunday, Aug. 15. STOP encourages entire families to attend the event to get in one last day of summer swimming and to help donate school supplies to Mingo's children. Food, refreshments, and games will also be provided

For more information about the event or the STOP Coalition, call (304) 664-3986.
