CHATTAROY - Chattaroy residents have been the subject of fraudulent survey takers according to reports received by the Williamson Fire Department (WFD).

Two groups of two people have made the rounds in the Chattaroy area claiming they are taking surveys for the WFD according to Williamson Fire Chief Jerry Mounts. Mounts confirmed the group has no affiliation whatsoever with the fire department.

The survey takers have not asked for money from residents according to Mounts. However, it is believed the survey takers are using their guise to gain access to resident's homes to evaluate potential victims.

Mounts also said in some instances the group claimed they represented the Hannahs or a foundation started by the Hannahs.

They have been known to drive a white Chevrolet Cavalier or a white Ford Windstar van.

Currently, the Williamson Police Department are investigating the matter. Anyone with information regarding the survey takers should contact the Williamson Police Department at (304) 235-2570.
