Virgie Coleman, 85 of Red Jacket, died Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at the Williamson Memorial Hospital in Williamson. Born March 2, 1925 in Phelps, Ky., she was a daughter of the late Troy and Pricie Dotson Wolford. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her loving husband, Anthony Coleman; daughters: Linda Mahon, Maggie Mullins, and Marie Ferrell; grandsons: Carl Lee Mahon, Anthony Mullins II, and Willis Bill Mullins; and two brothers; and two sisters. Virgie was a homemaker. She is survived by her sons: Harold (Kathleen) Coleman of Red Jacket and Michael (Christina) Coleman of Tennessee; and daughter: Jeanette (Gene Baker) Collins of Matewan; 13 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. Virgie is also survived by many loved ones and friends. Virgie never met a stranger and she loved everyone she met. Virgie will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. Honoring services will be held July 24, 2010 at 1 p.m. at the Church of God in Jesus' Name at Thacker with Rev. Delmer Akers officiating. Burial will follow in the Maynard Cemetery at North Matewan with family and friends serving as pallbearers. The family will begin receiving friends Friday, July 23, 2010, at 6 p.m. at the church with a special service at 7 p.m. Expressions of sympathy may be made online at www.chambersfuneralservices.com.
