Schedules for both the West Virginia and Kentucky squads have been posted on the Internet. Mingo County schedules can be found among others in the state at www.wvssac.org while their counterparts in Kentucky are up on www.khsaa.com.
Kentucky teams will be able to begin to practice July 20 but West Virginia teams will have to wait until Aug. 2. Belfry High School opens up their season with long time rival Prestonsburg on Aug. 20 before moving on to the Pike County Bowl Aug. 27. This year the bowl will be held at Pikeville and Shelby Valley high schools.
Teams across the Tug River begin their seasons Aug. 27. Williamson High School will host Hannan for their first game while Tug Valley will travel to Sherman.
The Tigers of Matewan will play their first game away as they take on Wyoming East. Burch High School will also open up on the road when they go to Betsy Layne High School in Kentucky.
Schedules for local middle schools have yet to be posted.
