WILLIAMSON — A Mingo County woman whose infant daughter died after being found in a bathtub has waived her right to a preliminary hearing.

Samantha Evans 15-month-old daughter was found lifeless with severe burns on her legs and later died at the hospital. Evans has been charged with child neglect resulting in death.

In Mingo Magistrate Court, Evans gave no evidence and her case was sent to Mingo Circuit Court by Magistrate Eugene Crum.

Evans is represented by Jerry Lyall, and the case is being prosecuted by Eugene Sesco. She remains lodged in Southeastern Regional Jail.
