The two-car accident involving a falling light pole in Dairy Queen's parking lot blocked access to the restaurant's main entrance. The driver of the Toyota Camry was transported to Appalachian Regional Hospital in South Williamson, Ky. The driver's identity and condition was unknown as of presstime
The accident occurred around 12:15 p.m. and involved a gold Toyota Camry and a 1990 Toyota 4Runner.
The 4Runner, driven by Nicole Speakman of Huddy, Ky., was traveling behind the Camry, northbound on U.S. 119 near Dairy Queen.
According to witness Frank Stacy who was preparing to turn onto U.S. 119 from the KY 292/US 119 intersection at Aflex, the driver of the Camry braked and prepared to turn right without using a turn signal. Speakman was unable to stop in time and with cars in the highway's passing lane, she veered right to avoid a collision, hitting a light pole in the process.
The Camry continued to turn right and the falling light pole hit the Camry.
The driver of the Toyota Camry's identity was unknown as of presstime. The driver was transported via ambulance to Appalachian Regional Hospital in South Williamson, Ky.
