Hate to say I told you so...

I’m not the kind of person that likes to say I told you so... oh wait a minute. I am exactly the kind of person that likes to tell you I told you so. I also like to point and laugh as I say something that I think is witty, which most of the time makes me look like a big jerk to whomever I am laughing at. With that being said I told you WVU was going to win, I will admit at times I didn’t think it was going to happen.

But it did.

After yelling and screaming like a kid that got exactly what they wanted for Christmas, I had to get on Facebook to talk junk to all the UK fans on my list, but I was too late. People had already beat me to it, and it seems that UK and WVU fans are not getting along right now. Lots of mean things are being said by both sides right now.

I have seen and read about many UK fans already cheering for Duke hoping that WVU gets beat so they can have some kind of strange revenge. To that I say, come on people, you need to grow up and quit acting like kids. Everyone knows for the best revenge you want the team to make it to the finals and get beat for the championship. That makes it hurt so much more and makes that sweet revenge that much better. That’s what I was going to wish for if UK had won.

It’s been four days now since WVU sent UK back to Lexington and I wonder if Demarcus Cousins is still wishing it was all a bad dream. People are saying that Cousins is NBA bound which is probably the truth. He IS in fact a good player (unless he is guarded by WVU Guard, Joe Mazzulla), along with John Wall they really gave UK fans something to cheer about this year. Wall and Cousins are the first freshmen tandem named to the Associated Press All-America first team. Along with the other players at Kentucky there are no doubts that the Wildcats had more talent than any other team this year.

So how did WVU beat the Wildcats? I would have to say it was coaching. Bob Huggins’s teams have topped John Calipari’s teams 8 out of 9 times they have played. Huggins is a hall of fame coach and knows recruiting is very important but apparently isn’t everything. Sometimes you have to do more than tell your players to just go play, like Calipari has been known to do over the years. That and a great 1-3-1 defense that left the Wildcats scratching their heads.

I have to tell you that I might have lied about never letting my friends forget that WVU beat UK. The way I see it is it’s better for the friendship to just let things like that go, after you rub it in for a few days of course.

Looking ahead WVU has Duke coming up which is going to be another tough game and I can only hope that they can yet again pull out a win.

Here’s the trivia question for the week: Which soccer team is the highest paid in the world?
