FRANKFORT, Ky, — Sen. Ray S. Jones has successfully undergone a surgical procedure and is resting comfortably in a Lexington, Ky., hospital.

“Senator Ray Jones is recovering from the surgery that he had earlier today at the University of Kentucky Medical Center,” Sen. Ed Worley (D—Richmond), Senate Minority leader, announced in the open Senate yesterday afternoon. “His doctors have said the operation went well. He will remain in the hospital for a few days. Senator Jones is expected to make a full recovery and return to the Kentucky State Senate. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.”

Jones announced earlier this week that he would be having necessary surgery and would be absent from the Senate Chambers for a few days, according to Rosalind Turner, communications liaison for the Senate Democratic Leadership Office.

Jones is remainiing in contact with his Frankfort and Pikeville offices, she said.
