Born March 24, 1932 in Hatfield, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Adrian and Dixie Smith Varney.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her first husband, Herman Collins; her second husband, Floyd James Bell; two brothers: Elmo and Estil Varney; and two sisters: Elsie Hackney and Ruby Collins.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Micco Jesus Church.
Her survivors include: daughter, Sharon K. Thompson of Logan; stepson: Larry James Bell of Pontiac, Mich.; stepdaughter, Judy Ann Bell of Lynchburg, Va.; sisters: Lillie Collins of Logan, Ernie Mae Diamond of Ransom, Ky., and Kozetta Hensley of Jackson, Ohio; two grandsons: Herman Ray Thompson and Jimmy Gray Thompson; two great-grandsons: Christopher Blake Thompson and Jimmy Gray Thompson; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and brother and sisters in the Lord.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 12 at 1 p.m. at the Micco Jesus Church with Pastor Jimmy Fletcher officiating. Interment will follow at the Collins Cemetery at Dans Branch in Borderland. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation services will be held Wednesday, March 10 at the Hatfield Funeral home from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. in Toler, Ky. and after 5 p.m. Thursday, March 11 at the Micco Jesus Church with special services nightly at 7 p.m.
