Madell Ball
Madell Lorraine Ball, 53, of Chattaroy, died Friday, Feb. 26, 2010, at the Trinity Healthcare in Williamson.
She was born in Noblesville, Ind., Jan. 28, 1957, to the Paul Platt and the late Mary Callahan Platt. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by an infant brother.
She was a waitress and a member of the Parsley Bottom Freewill Baptist Church.
Along with her father, she is survived by her husband, Stan Ball of Chattaroy; sons: Marcus William Graham of Indiana, Paul Jason Graham of Chattaroy and Brandon S. Dominic Ball of South Carolina; daughters, Amber Monique Staten and Sarah Lorraine Ball both of Chattaroy; brothers, Jace Platt, Brad Platt and Shawn Platt, all of Indiana; special aunt, Denna Kay Platt; 10 grandchildren; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m., Monday, March 1, at the Parsley Bottom Freewill Baptist Church with Bro. Mike Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Mountain View Memory Gardens, Maher, with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday at the church.

Troy
Blankenship Jr.
Troy Blankenship Jr., 84, of Baisden, died Friday, Feb. 26, 2010, at the Cornerstone Hospital at St. Mary’s Medical Center.
He was born in Baisden, Oct. 2, 1925, a son of the late Troy and Rosa Blankenship Sr.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m., Monday, March 1, at the Rosa Old Regular Baptist Church with the Elders Hobart Hamilton and Gary Young officiating. Burial will follow in the Blankenship Family Cemetery, Baisden.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Sunday, at the church.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Mounts Funeral Home of Gilbert.
Scott Cole
Scott Cole, 70, and a resident of Paw Paw, Ky., passed away on Friday, Feb. 26, 2010, at the Hospice and Palliative Care Center in Winston Salem, N.C.
He was born April 16, 1938, in Pike County, Ky., the son of the late Ashland and Ellie Dotson Cole. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Cole; son,
Timmy Cole; granddaughter, Ariana Barker; brother, Garney Cole; sisters, Virginia, Pearlie, Mary, Ermal and Amery.
He was a retired coal miner and a member of the World Evangelist Outreach Church.
He is survived by three children, Tina Cole, Hope Barker and David Cole all of Lewisville, N.C.; grandchildren:, Cory Sabol, Dakota and Austin Perkey, Kyle and Noah Barker, and Travis and Brittany Hurley.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 28, at the R.S. Jones & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Daryl Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Estep Family Cemetery,t Paw Paw.
Visitation: after 6 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with services at 7 p.m..

Lovis Hughes
Lovis June Cline Hughes, 77, of Gilbert, died Friday, Feb. 26, 2010, at the Charleston Area Medical Center.
She was born in Wharncliffe, Sept. 3, 1932, a daughter of the late Walter and Rebecca Cline.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m., Wednesday, March 3, at the Eagle Sanctuary at Long Bottom of Mallory with the Bishop Anthony Hudgins, Pastor Steven Duty, Bishop Dewey Lusk and Evangelist Charlene Miller officiating. Entombment will follow in the Highland Memory Gardens, Pecks Mill.
Visitation will be be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the sanctuary.

Billy Wallace
Billy Joe Wallace, 76 of Williamson, passed away Thursday, Feb. 25, 2010, at the Williamson Memorial Hospital.
He was born May 8, 1933, in Shady Valley, Tenn., the son of the late Hettie West and Roger West. He was also preceded in death by his loving daughter, Joi Aloise Parsley.
He was a retired Railroad engineer with over 39 years of service. He was a U.S. Army veteran and was a member of the East Williamson Baptist Church. He was the secretary for the Brotherhood of Locomotive of Engineers.
Bill was a loving husband and dad and married to his wife, Dolly Jean Skeens Wallace, for almost 46 years.
Survivors including his immediate family members, are his loving wife, Dolly Jean Skeens Wallace; sons, Billy Joe Wallace Jr. of Haw River, N.C., William Heath Wallace of Huntington, and Brian Keith Wallace and daughter-in-law, Adrienne Blackburn of Canada, Ky.; brothers and sisters, Walter West, Acie West, Evelyn Atwood and Lawrence West all of Beeson, Mildred Milum and Irene Vaught of Princeton, Christina Vaught of Charleston, and Linda Hensley of Smithland, Ky.; grandchildren, Jeremy Gage, Damon Keith and Zachary Kenneth Wallace, Billy Joe Wallace III, Amber Dale Wallace, Earsel Hensley Jr., Derrick Hensley and Jessie Parsley; and eight great-grandchildren.
Other than his long years of work, he enjoyed taking his son’s hunting and fishing and being in the outdoors. Other hobbies included woodworking, sewing, watching old westerns, reading, scrapbooking and telling stories about his life and the way it used to be. He will be greatly and sadley missed. We all love him very much. He helped raise two Boston Terriers; Bugedi and Undelay, who will miss seeing him also. Love you, Dad and for others; We’ll miss you BJ.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 1, at the R. E. Rogers Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Bob Norman officiating. Burial will follow in the Mountain View Memory Gardens, Huddy, Ky.
Visitation will be held after 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the funeral home. Men of the East Williamson Baptist Church will serve as pallbearers.

Richard Edwards
Richard L. Edwards, 85, of Apple Grove, West Virginia, died Friday, February 26, 2010 at Holzer Senior Care in Bidwell, Ohio.
He was born December 2, 1924 at Red Jacket, WV, son of the late Walter Edwards and Mary (Clay) Edwards.
Richard was a World War II Army veteran, a member of the First Baptist Church of Varney in Varney, WV, a member of the UMWA local, and a retired coal miner from US Steel Mining Company.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle J. Edwards; one son, Randall Edwards; nine brothers, Herbert, Walter Jr., Curtis, Charles, Rudolph, Howard, James, Lewis and Vernon Edwards; and six sisters, Myrtle Burke, Katherine Sykes, Emogene Hayton, Vernie Edwards, Beulah Mae Cantrell and Dimple Hartley.
Surviving are two sons, Gary (Sandy) Edwards of Gallipolis Ferry and Brent (Patty) Edwards of Apple Grove; four grandchildren, Eric Edwards, Kristen Wray, Shawn Edwards, and Mary Beth Woods; four great grandchildren; and one very special friend, Harold Stover of Apple Grove.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, March 1, 2010 at the Mt. Carmel Cemetery at Apple Grove with Max Spurlock officiating. Military graveside rites will be given by American Legion Post No. 23 of Point Pleasant and the West Virginia Honor Guard. There will be no visitation.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant.
