Police make several drug arrests on yesterday

The Williamson Police Department and the Williamson West Virginia State Police Detachment made three arrests on Wednesday following a month long drug investigation.

Chester “Baldie” White, was arrested for two counts of delivery with intent at a residence in the West End of Williamson. Police were also able to arrest a co-conspirator of White in East Williamson.

Billy Evans, originally of North Carolina, but who had been residing in the East Williamson area for the past few months, was picked up by officers for two counts of delivery, one count of conspiracy, and one count of possession with intent to deliver. Police also discovered that Evans’ had outstanding warrants in North Carolina for parole violations.

After searching these residences, police discovered packaged marijuana that had been prepared to be sold, as well as one hand gun.

Evans’ wife, Amanda Todd, was arrested on two counts of delivery, one count of conspiracy and one count of possession with intent to deliver.

Evans and Todd also face two counts of child neglect after officers found a two-year-old and three-month-old in the residence.

The children were put in the custody of Child Protective Services (CPS).

Lt. C.D. Rockel and Senior Trooper B.R. Moore explained that after numerous complaints from the community regarding drug activity in West and East Williamson they were able to bring three drug dealers to justice.

“We had received several complaints from the community and we appreciate their tips,” said Senior Trooper B.R. Moore. “The community is tired of the drug activity that is poisoning the streets of their towns and they are taking action.”

“We also appreciate their efforts and the efforts of Circuit Court Judge Michael Thorns-bury and Prosecutor Michael Sparks for their continuing proactive stance on drug users in Mingo County.”

“They make it possible for us to make these arrests, keeping drugs off the streets.”

White, Evans and Todd were transported to Southwestern Regional Jail in Holden.
