The Mingo County Firefighter Appreciation Day banquet was held on Saturday, February 20 at Williamson Fire Department, in honor of the County’s Firefighter’s Day, which was declared in the February 17, meeting of the Mingo County Commission. The banquet included dinner and appreciation awards to all active county fire fighters. Approximately 300 fire fighters were present, along with elected officials and citizens of Mingo County who attended in support and appreciation of local fire fighters. Williamson Fire Chief Jerry Mounts called the banquet “a truly memorable event.”
