George Robert Williamson, 47, of Williamson, formerly of Delbarton, passed away at his home Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010.

He was born June 8, 1962, in Williamson, the son of George and Virginia Williamson of Williamson.

Robert was a retired coal miner and a member of the Delbarton Church of God.

He was a 1980 graduate of Williamson High School where he played football and basketball for the Wolfpack. His life was all about his two sons. He coached Little League baseball and Midget League basketball. He loved the youth of the Delbarton community. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, those left behind to cherish his memories are his two sons, Stephen Chase and Cody Micah Williamson both of Delbarton; brothers, Dennis Williamson of Princeton and Shawn Williamson; sister, Robyn Griffey of Williamson; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held as a celebration of Robert’s life Thursday, Feb. 11, from 6p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Delbarton Church of God with special services starting at 7p.m. Rev. Mitchell Bias and Bro. Mike Carter will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memeorial contributions may be made to the Regional Christian School Athletic Department.
