Pearlie Maynard, 88, of Gleason, Tenn., passed away Sunday, Feb. 7, 2010, at Saint Thomas Hospital in Nashville, Tenn.

She was born in Sidney (Big Creek), Ky., Jan. 14, 1922, a daughter of the late James and Rebecca Church.

She was married to the late Tremble Maynard, who preceded her in death July 18, 1984. She is also preceded in death by a son, James Harvey Maynard; a daughter, Saundra Maynard; two grandchildren, Deanna (Peanut) Tuttle and Hillary Maynard; a daughter-in-law, Sue Maynard; a son-in-law, Jack Tuttle; 12 brothers; and three sisters.

She is survived by her children, Lois Tuttle of Gleason, Myrtle (Earl) Headings of Huntsville, Ohio, Edith Wilber of Mayfield, Ky., Linda Wood of Marysville, Ohio, Clyde (Mel) Maynard of Mayfield, Darell Maynard of McLemoreville, Tenn., and Michael (Gina) Maynard of Gleason, Tenn.; a sister, Mary Alice Cook of Kentucky; grandchildren, Michelle Roberts, Melanie Maynard, David Tuttle, Terry (Lynn) Headings, Becky Whaley, Kathy (Patrick) Messer, Angie Wilber, Tony (Jimmy) Gill, Johnny Wood, Scott Wood, Lisa (Dennis) Boggs, Jeff Wood, Teresa Maynard, Cassidy Maynard, Garret Maynard, Edward (Brittany) Buechner III, Paul Buechner, Leeanna (John) Collins, Alycia Irlbeck, and Aaron Irlbeck; twenty-eight great grandchildren and twenty-one great great grandchildren.

Pearlie was very gifted with her crafts. She enjoyed quilting, embroidery, and cross-stitching. She loved the outdoors and enjoyed gardening. She also loved housekeeping, cooking, and baking. Most of all, she loved and adored her children and grandchildren dearly. She was a wonderful, precious woman with all of the love in the world. She will be dearly missed.

A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at a later date.
