INEZ, Ky. – Two men of the Inez area were arrested by Chief Deputy Bryan Tipton of the Martin County Sheriff’s Department Jan. 28 on bench warrants and a third man was cited to appear in court to answer to motor vehicle violations.

John D. Sartin, 24, was arrested on Court Street on bench warrants, including one for alleged assault, second degree, and one for possession of a controlled substance, third degree (drug unspecified), first offense. Tipton also executed an indictment warrant on another case.

Johnny D. Mills, 27, was served four bench warrants on the following charges: Possession of a controlled substance, first degree (second offense), and possession of a controlled substance, third degree (first offense), drugs in each instance unspecified; persistent felony offender, and possession of marijuana. The deputy executed an indictment warrant in another case but had no further information.

Willie D. Goble, 47, of Lower Fluty Lick, Inez, was observed by Tipton on Jan. 24, driving a 1994 Chevrolet pickup with some obvious motor vehicle violations.

Tipton had noticed the absence of a license plate on the rear section of the vehicle. After making a stop on Ky. 292 at Hode to check further, he spotted a license plate in the rear window but it had expired in September 2009. Goble had no/expired Kentucky registration receipt and failed to produce proof of insurance, said the deputy’s report.

Goble was cited to appear in Martin County Court at 9 a.m. on Feb. 15, 2010 to answer to the charges.
