Forty-year-old Marlo Denny of Campbells Creek pleaded guilty Friday to first-degree murder in the death of 65-year-old Nancy McGraw. Denny was accused of standing on McGraw’s neck and kicking her in the head repeatedly.
Kanawha Circuit Judge Charlie King sentenced Denny to life with a recommendation of mercy. That means she’ll be eligible for parole in 15 years.
Denny acknowledged her mother was unconscious as she kicked her and said she pleaded to spare her family the ordeal of a trial.
