Pikeville defeats Lady Pack, 57-41

The Lady Pack fared better Monday against the Pikeville Lady Panthers in their second meeting of the season, but were unable to finish on top, losing 57-41. In the teams’ prior match-up, the Lady Panthers defeated Williamson, 25-64, in the season opener for the Lady Pack.

Jessica Fields led all players with the game high of 21 points for the Lady Pack. Fields is only 16 points away from reaching the 1,000 point milestone.

Other scorers for Williamson were: Olivia Banks and Taylor Elkins with 4 points each, Devan Maynard and Mackenzie Stapleton with 3 each, and Jessica Sanger, Valarie White, and Shareekua Jones scoring 2 points apiece for the Lady Pack.

Players scoring for Pikeville were: Lauren Lawson and Lindsey Isner led the Lady Panthers with 13 points each, Madison Shull had 12 points, Rachel Smith scored 9, Rachel Potter had 3, Rachel Downy, Aileah Bartley, and Emma Looney had 2 points each, and Lesley Francisco scored 1 point.

Williamson will play an away game at Belfry Friday, Jan. 29 before returning home Monday, Feb. 1 to play Van.

Pikeville (10-5) played Magoffin Co. Jan. 26 and will play Tug Valley Jan. 30, both in away games.
