NAUGATUCK – The Tug Valley Lady Panthers suffered a tough loss against Chapmanville Thursday, 55-64.

"I thought we gave a much better effort tonight," said Tug Valley Head Coach Okey Smith. "We got in a little foul trouble and I took chances playing girls with fouls that I usually don't do and we got a little lead in the 3rd quarter. I then tried to sit the ones with fouls and let them come back on us at the end of the quarter, so maybe this one is my fault.”

"I really think these girls are close to being a good team,” continued Smith. “We just have to shake this one off and go to Man on Saturday and try to get a win."
Tabby Mounts scored the game of 18 points for the Lady Panthers. Also scoring for Tug Valley was: Elizabeth Evans with 15 points, Whitney Evans with 9, Courtney Southers with 8, Hailee Ward and Karah Sheppard each with 2 points, and Desrae Vance with 1 point.

Allison Evans led the Lady Tigers with 17 points with Lydia Vance right behind her at 16. Kelli Garrett scored 12 for Chapmanville, Brittani Lowe sank 9 points, Jenna Vance netted 6, and Jenna Evans scored 4 points.
Tug Valley (4-6) takes on the Man Lady Hillbillies in an away game Saturday, Jan. 23 at 2 p.m and the Gilbert Lady Lions at Gilbert Tuesday, Jan. 25.
