George was born in McAndrews, May 23, 1928, the beloved son of the late George Washington May Sr. and the late Bertha Blackburn May. He was preceded into Glory by his loving wife Reba May and a son Bruce May.
He was a UAW worker at Chrysler Motor Company for 42 years in Trenton, Mich. He was a loving father and grandfather. George will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving daughters, Gwendolyn Lee May Castro (Alex) of Plantation, Fla., and Debra Lynn May Carter (Mark) of Turkey Creek, Ky.; a sister, Bernice May Cleghon (Richard) of Huddy, Ky.; a brother, William May of Ohio; five grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and one very special friend, Jan Glowinski.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m., Friday, Jan. 8, at the R.E. Rogers Funeral Home chapel in the Appalachian Plaza, South Williamson, with the Rev. Larry Tackett Sr. officiating. Burial will follow at the Mountain View Memory Gardens, Huddy. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will begin after 6 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at the funeral home.
