Lady Wolfpack wins first of the year over Phelps

The Williamson Lady Wolfpack won their first win of the season over the Phelps Lady Hornets Tuesday with a score of 41-26.

Jessica Fields was the leading scorer of the game with 15 points. Other Williamson scorers were Taylor Elkins with 9, Devan Maynard with 8, Olivia Banks with 6, and Shareekua Jones with 3.

Leading scorers for the Lady Hornets were Kayla Ratliff with 10 points, Chasity Wolford with 5, Caitlyn Norman and Kasheena Wolford with 4 points each, Cassidy Campell with 2, and Kourtney Dotson had 1.

Phelps won out over the Wolfpack in the lady’s junior varsity game played prior to the varsity game by a score of 36-24. Phelps’ leading scorer was Cassidy Campbell with 13 points.

Williamson’s leading junior varsity scorers were Jessica Sanger with 8 points and Valerie White with 7.

The Phelps Lady Hornets will face Matewan at Tiger Stadium Dec. 17 at 7:30 p.m. and will look to improve on their 1-3 record.

The Williamson Lady Wolfpack will take their 1-1 record to Burch High School Dec. 17 at 7 p.m.
