Mingo Health Department has H1N1 vaccine for children

The Mingo County Health Department has new vaccines for children and is announcing the immunization schedule for December and for January 2010.

During those two months, the department will maintain the following schedule for immunizations and TB skin tests:

Week of Dec. 14 – No VFC immunizations will be given this week.

Week of Dec. 21 – Tuesday, Dec. 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. in health department offices.

Week of Dec. 28 – Tuesday, Dec. 29, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Beginning Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2010, the health department will continue the clinics from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. All dates and times are subject to nurse availability.

All children 17 years of age and younger must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, or have a signed note from the parent or legal guardian giving the Mingo County Health Department permission to give all needed immunizations to the child. There will be no exceptions, it was stressed.

The department urges, “Vaccinate – don’t be late!”
