The Mingo County Health Department will be holding a swine flu vaccination clinic Friday, Dec. 11 from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Swine flu vaccinations will not be restricted during this clinic. Healthy adults aged 25 to 64 and adults 65 years old and older can now be vaccinated.
Children 6 months to 17 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or a legal guardian or must have a permission slip signed by a parent or legal guardian authorizing the Mingo County Health Department to give the child a swine flu vaccination. No exceptions will be made for this rule.
The Mingo County Health Department asks that anyone attending the clinic to receive a swine flu vaccination to wear a shirt that either has short sleeves or sleeves that are big enough to be pushed to the shoulder. There will be no private areas during the clinic so removing the shirt is not an option. Attendees should also be prepared to stand in line because seating will not be available and to dress appropriately for the weather as lines may be outside.
Because of the swine flu vaccination clinic, the Mingo County Health Department will not be giving TB skin tests or regular immunizations on this day. The normal immunization schedule will continue Tuesday, Dec. 22.
For more information, contact the Mingo County Health Department at (304) 235-3570 during regular business hours of Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
