Former Belfry Homecom-ing Queen, Dana Lou Hall, 27, of Williamson, appeared in Mingo County Magistrate Court Wednesday, Dec. 9. Hall waived her right to a preliminary hearing and now the case will be bound over the grand jury. Police say that routine traffic stop Friday evening resulted in a drug bust and Hall’s arrest.

According to investigating Officer Senior Trooper B.R. Moore, Hall, 27 of Williamson, had been under investigation for the last month by the Williamson Police Department and the West Virginia State Police. Numerous citizens told officers Hall was selling OxyContin and traveling to Florida to obtain the prescriptions from various doctors.

During the course of their investigation, Moore said they discovered Hall was traveling to Fort Lauder-dale, Fla., monthly to get the prescriptions on which she was making approximately $12,000 in profit.

During the traffic stop, police confiscated 285 30 milligram Oxycontin, 125 15 milligram Oxycontin, 50 2 milligram Xanax, and 119 Somas, having a street value of just over $11,000.

Hall was charged with two counts of delivery, two counts of possession with intent to deliver and two counts of trafficking in and out of the state.

Hall was arraigned by Mingo County Magistrate Dee Side-bottom where bond was set at $600,000. She was transported to Southwestern Regional Jail, where she remains.

Moore stated that this is one arrest in an investigation the police are conducting and they expect to make several more.

Williamson Police Department Lt. C.D. Rockel is assisting in the investigations.

I don't know why you guys are picking on Jessica. All she did was write the story and state the girl was a former BHS Homecoming Queen. For those of us who attended BHS with Dana that is a big deal. It doesn't mean that Jessica is jealous. We all knew Dana and she was very popular in school. It just goes to show that even the most popular people can be brought down too!

Jessica Hatfield, are you kidding me? You wrote two WDN stories--one where Adam Wicker held up Sycamore Inn with a gun, and he might have family ties to this area? Oh, he has local ties alright. I do not know you, but it is apparent you have some kind of jealous history with Ms. Hall. The only person who cares that she was a former BHS queen is you. She needs prayer and help, not a free smear campaign. If you are going to write articles for the WDN, do not let it be so obvious that you are settling an old high-school score.

Jessica, just wondering if you are now going to start identifying all arrestees high school affiliations? This girl was BHS Queen at least 9 years age, can you explain to me what this has to do with her arrest? I think you just have a jealous streak toward Belfry. I am telling everyone in the Belfry area to cancel their subscription to your paper.
