Born June 25, 2931, at McVeigh, Ky., a son of the late Raymond and Opal Hunt Fields. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, David Fields.
He was a retired railroad conductor with Norfolk and Southern Railroad, member of the Pinsonfork Church of God and served his country with the United States Army in the Korean War.
Shirrel is survived by his loving wife Loretta Gay Coley Fields; one daughter, Belinda Fields of Turkey Creek, Ky.; one son, Johnny Fields of McVeigh; one brother, Jim (Grace) Fields of Grayson, Ky.; three grandchildren, Jason (Ton-ya) Fields, Jessica Steele and Corey Baker; one great Grandchild, Brian Steven Fields; and a host of loving friends and family.
Funeral Services will be held 1 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 9, at the Pinsonfork Church of God with David Kilburn officiating. En-tombment will follow in the Mountain View Memory Gardens Mausoleum, Hud-dy, Ky. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held after 6 p.m., Monday and Tuesday at the Pinsonfork Church of God with special services Tuesday 7 p.m.
