He was born June 24, 1936 at Freeburn Ky., to the late Wayne and Sister E. Eldridge Mounts.
In addition to his parents, “Jake” is preceded in death by brothers Flannary; Hodge; and Bruce Edward Mounts.
He was a coal miner and of the Pentecostal faith.
Those surviving “Jake” are his sisters — Elva Mounts of Freeburn, Ky.; Lennie Layne of Chicago, Ill.; Merline Chapman of Freeburn, Ky.; Verline Dotson of Phelps, Ky.; Irene Gearles of Freeburn, Ky.; Lilly Bell of Beckley, W.Va.; Mattie Prater of Freeburn, Ky.; Erma Blankenship; Beaulah Norman; Ruby Workman all of Freeburn, Ky., and Pearl Blankenship of Majestic, Ky.
“Jake” is also survived by a special friend Warren “Bubby” Wolford; and a host of nieces; nephews; loved ones; neighbors; and friends.
Honoring services will be Friday, November 27, 2009 at 1 p,m., at Eagle’s Nest Church of Barrenshee, Ky., with reverends Bernard Smith; Danny Hilton; and Darius Casey officiating.
Burial will follow at the Freeburn Cemetery at Freeburn, Ky., with family and friends acting as pallbearers.
The Family will begin receiving friends on Wednesday, November 25, 2009, at the Church beginning at 6 p.m., with a special service each night beginning at 7 p.m.
