The 2009 Matewan homecoming marched steadily along through forecasts of bad weather and saw a surprising turn out of people braving the rain for hometown fun. Above, Eddie Nenni, left and Jim Hunt of the Jaguars brought their brand of 1950s rock music to the Rotary Pavilion Stage. Below left, the homecoming’s car show had eye catching flash in the form of a red Chevy Bel Air as well as many other classic cars. Below right, scarecrows and pumpkins adorned the town’s streets, setting the atmosphere for the festivities. See additional pictures on Page 8 of today’s newsppaer.
