Born May 5, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Bill and Susie (Bailey) Thompson.
Lola was preceded in death by her loving husband of 34 years, elder Ellis Davis; granddaughter Angel Davis; son-in-law Bruce Hale; brother, William Thompson, and five infant siblings.
Lola was a devoted member of Bethany Old Regular Baptist Church for over 50 years. She was an angel here on Earth. Lola was a precious daughter, sister, loving wife, devoted mom, mom-in-law, special aunt, doting granny Lola, and the best friend anyone could ever have.
Those left behind are her children: Earl (Helen) Davis, Sue (Jerry) Rose, Linda (Donald) Hensley, Wetzel (Lorraine) Davis, Elrita (Henry) Parsley, and Bill Meck, grandchildren: Billy (Lesa) Davis, Drema (Andy) Brewer, Jeremy (Melissa) Hale, Chris (Amanda) Davis, Craig (Heather) Davis, Justin (Tiffany) Hale, Brandon Rose, Eric (Maria) Davis, and Brittney Davis, great-grandchildren: Olivia, Kennedee, Autumn, Matthew, Kaitlyn, Micah, Ashton, Karissa, Kaden, Jace, and Dante, brother: Wilburn (Eva) Thompson; sisters, Orlena Davis, Shirley (Dale) White, sister-in-law, Vella Thompson, and a host of extended family and friends who were so dear to her and the family.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Oct. 10 at 11 a.m. at Chafin Funeral Home in Delbarton with elders Albert Cable, Randy Lackey, Lacy Walters and Larry May officiating. Burial will follow in the Davis Family Cemetery at Hensley Big Branch Road. Grandsons and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Chafin Funeral Home, Friday, Oct. 9.
