A Rawl man was arraigned on Monday morning on warrants obtained by the Mingo County Sheriffs Department and the Delbarton Police Department.
Dallas Anderson, 32, was arrested on 15 charges including fleeing in a vehicle, reckless driving, no insurance, no registration, two counts of child neglect, driving under a suspended license, three counts of obstructing an officer, breaking and entering, grand larceny and receiving stolen goods.
According to the criminal complaints filed in Mingo County Magistrate Court, Oct. 4, police attempted a traffic stop for reckless driving in Delbarton. Officers said when they turned on their blue lights, the defendant turned off his headlights and proceeded up the residential area of Puritan Mines. He disregarded the sirens and continued with no regard for the safety of others almost striking two small children on Laura Avenue.
Officers located Anderson at his residence where he admitted he had no registration and insurance. A driver license’s check revealed his license was suspended. During the time Anderson fled from police, he had two minors, a 13-year-old female and an 11-year-old female, in the vehicle who were not in a safety belt.
On Sept. 25, the defendant fled from officers in a red and grey Dodge Neon. Officers had attempted to make a traffic stop for reckless driving in again at Puritan Mines. The report stated that officers observed Anderson driving at a high rate of speed and crossing the center line.
In another incident on May 25, Anderson allegedly broke into a storage trailer belonging to Ralph Maynard and took a washer and dryer valued at $700, a 12’ aluminum Jon boat valued at $500, and numerous other items valued at $1,835.
Officers responded to Anderson’s house, were they recovered the washer and dryer. They also ran the VIN number to an ATV (All-Terrain Vehicle) in front of the residence and it came back stolen from Kentucky.
Anderson was arraigned in front of Magistrate Pam Newsom where bond was set at $32,500. He remains in the Southwestern Regional Jail.
