Born Jan. 23, 1949 in Mingo County, he was the son of the late Liss and Lillian Brewer Hodge.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by infant twin daughters.
He is survived by his wife, Janice Muncy Hodge, sons Billy Hodge Jr., of Columbus, Ohio and Jacob Michael Hodge of Kermit, a daughter, Donna Tingle of Harrodsburg, Ky., step-daughters Jamie (Joseph) Preston of Newark, Ohio, Amy (Tony) Adkins of Dingess, a step-son, Steven Marcum of Kermit, a brother, Donnie (Fredia) Ferell of Cleveland, Ohio, nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild and many other family members.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2009, at the Welcome Home Church at Marrowbone, with Daniel Perry and Darrell Muncy officiating. Burial will foloow at the Mike Brewer Cemetery.
Friends may visit the church after 3 p.m. Monday and all day Tuesday.
Arrangements are under the direction of Phelps and Son Funeral Home of Inez, Ky.
