Nina Mae Trent, 85, of Chattaroy, WV, peacefully departed this life on Monday, September 20, 2009, at her residence, where she was surrounded by her cherished family.

Nina was born on March 12, 1924, at Chattaroy, WV, to the late John Burnette and Hessie Moore Burnett.

In addition to her parents, Nina was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, the Reverend G. B. "Bird" Trent; four brothers, Virgil, Sampy, Don and Bud Bur-nette; and four sisters, Hazel Smith, Jessie Foster, Betty Scarberry and Mary Cath-erine Huff; and a step-daughter, Darlene Trent Barrett..

Nina was employed at the A & P Grocery Store in downtown Williamson, where she was a dedicated employee for 42 years prior to her retirement. After retiring from the grocery business, Nina continued to maintain a close relationship with many of her co-workers and the friends that she had come to know and love over the years. Nina had a wide circle of friends and she enjoyed spending time with all of them. For many years, Nina and several of her friends took an early morning walk and enjoyed breakfast together before going their separate ways for the day.

Nina was also very close to her large family. While she did not have children of her own, she was a second mother to so many of her nieces and nephews. She leaves with her family many fond memories of happy days and happy occasions that were spent with one another.

Nina was fun to be with and she was a delight to know. She will be lovingly remembered and sadly mis-sed always.

Nina was a member of the Chattaroy Missionary Baptist Church.

Nina is survived by her beloved sister, Lucy Byrge of Chattaroy; several loving and attentive nieces and neph-ews, including, Linda (Ron-nie) McMaster of Chattaroy, Nina Lynn Huff Smith of Williamson, Judy (Jim) Har-vey of Chattaroy, John (Rose) Smith, of Huntington, WV, Jo Agnes (Joel) Ander-son of Williamson, Mark (Jennifer) Byrge of Akron, Ohio; great-niece, Angie (Tom) Pasco of Wheeling, WV; a step-daughter, Doro-thy Trent Deal of Tampa, Fla.; as well as several other nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, Sep-tember 23, 2009, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., at Weaver Mor-tuary in West Williamson.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, September 24, 2009, at the mortuary. The Reverend W. L. Bostic will officiate.

Burial will follow at the Mountain View Memory Gardens at Maher, WV. Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.
