HUNTINGTON - The thunder of Marshall’s Thundering Herd will hopefully be as effective offensively tonight against Bowling Green as it was two weeks ago in teir home opener against Southern Illinois.

Marshall opened two weeks ago with a 31 -28 win over the Salukis at home. Then last week the Herd was blown out by the Virginia tech Hokies 52 to 10 at Blacksburg.

Bowling Green opened the season with an impressive 31-14 win over Sunbelt Conference favorite Troy and nearly pulled an upset at nationally-ranked Missouri last Saturday before falling 27-20.

Bowling Green and Marshall have a long history on the gridiron that dates back to 1954. The two teams have met 27 times and BGSU owns a 20-7 advantage over Marshall.

The two played on a regular basis from 1997-2004 when Marshall was a member of the Mid-American Conference.

Saturday's game with Bowling Green will mark the first time Marshall will play a Mid-American Conference school since leaving the MAC in 2005.

Marshall will see a familiar face on the BGSU sideline tonight in former Marshall assistant coach and Thundering Herd standout Shannon Morrison. Morrison left Marshall this past off season, after a four year stint on Mark Snyder's staff, to take over as co-Defensive Coordinator at Bowling Green.

Kick-off is set for 7:00 p.m.
