Betty Jo Ann (NaNa) Smith, 66, of Canada, Ky., passed away Wednesday September 16, 2009 at her residence. She was born October 14, 1942 at Hampton, Va., to the late William Ernest and Mary Virginia Cook Williams. She is also preceded in death by one daughter, Tina Marie Smith; one brother, Sonny Williams; father-in-law Bogar Smith, and sister-in-law Connie Williams. She was a homemaker and a member of the Sidney Missionary Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband Ronald Bruce Smith; one son, William Eddie Bradley of Pikeville, Ky.; one daughter, Mary (Macky) Preece of Canada, Ky.; two brothers, Ronnie Williams of Gloucester, Va., and Joey (Mary) Williams of Gloucester, Va.; one sister, Nancy (Bootsie) Winn of Hampton, Va.; three grandchildren, Kasee (Bobby) Blackburn, Chase Preece and Macky Lee (Trisha) Preece; two great grandchildren, Jack Rylee Preece and Chance Alan Blackburn, and her mother-in-law, Zettie Smith of Canada, Ky.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Saturday September 19, 2009 at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home, Appalachian Plaza with Jamie Fugate officiating. Burial will follow at the Smith Family Cemetery at Canada, Ky., with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be after 6 p.m., Thursday night and Friday night with special services at 7 p.m., Friday night with Geoff Tackett and Freddie Smith officiating.
