The Mingo County Sheriffs Department along with the West Virginia State Police worked together to bring the two suspects in on felony charges.
Josh Daniel, of Dan’s Branch, and James Greg Robertson of Williamson, waived their rights to a preliminary and the trail was bound over to the grand jury.
A third suspect in the crime was arrested on Thursday, the same day Daniel and Robertson went before the magistrate where bond was set at $100,000.
Cecil Ray Diamond was arrested on charges of conspiracy, second degree robbery and grand larceny.
The criminal complaint stated that Diamond conspired along with Robertson and Daniel to rob the connivance store. According to the criminal complaint, the Daniel entered the store with a chemical substance, called Cap-stun, and demanded the money. While Robertson drove to a pre-determined destination and waited on Daniel.
Diamond is accused of supplying Daniel with the Cap-stun and clothes used in the robbery and allegedly Daniel also gave Diamond the money obtained from the robbery.
Sheriffs Cpl. Norman Mines, Deputy Cpl. Chris Endicott and Trooper B.R. Moore were the first to receive the call on Saturday, Aug. 29, to respond to the convenience store where the suspects allegedly took $1,400 in U.S. Currency and 10-15 packages of cigarettes.
Arresting officers Muncy Moore, along with the help of Deputy Sgt. Joe Smith, Deputy Sgt. James Muncy, Deputy Matt Lovern, Deputy Steven Smith, and WVSP Cpl. Harper and Trooper Kuhn worked to assist in solving the case by interviewing witnesses and suspects in the crime.
The suspects remain in Southwestern Regional Jail at press-time.
