Kermit downs Belfry 36 to 12 in middle school football

BELFRY - Kermit K-8 began it’s regular season about where it left off last year - pounding opponents on the scoreboard.

The Blue Devils opened their season Tuesday night with a 36 to 12 win over Belfry Middles’s Pirates.

Kermit’s Haiden Sturgell ran for two touchdowns while garnering eighty-one recieving yards. Sturgell also caught a pass for a sixty-three yard touchdown.

Kermit quarterback David Runyon completed three passes on seven attempts for eighty-one yards.

Chase Parsley also caught a touchdown pass of thirty-three yards..

Kermit returns to action on Saturday, September 10th against Matewanat Bob Brewer Stadium in Naugatuck, WV. This game will be Kermit’s home opener and will be the first action of 2009 by the defending Mingo County Middle School champs against a county team in regular seson play.

Yes this is the seventh grade only, they are playing without there coach because of a family emergancy and doing a fine job considering the situation.

that was belfry 7th grade team the 8th grade team is undefeated .
