Pike County grand jury indicts 27

PIKEVILLE, Ky. — A Pike County man charged with sex abuse and four who allegedly jumped bail were among the 27 persons indicted by the Pike County grand jury when it returned 23 true bills last week.

According to grand jury reports released by the commonwealth’s attorney, Pudgu Thacker, 40, of Honey Fork Road, Phyllis, was charged with two counts of first-degree sex abuse (Class D felony).

The first count claims that he subjected a person under 12-years-old to sexual contact. The second count contends he subjected a person under 16-years-old to sexual contact.

Carl Pugh Jr., 47, of Wall Street, Pikeville; Harlan Keith Ratliff, 29, of Williams Street, Elkhorn City; Marion Rudder, 30 of Taylor Road, Pikeville; and John Hector Wilson, 32, of Raccoon Creek Road, Rac-coon, were each charged in separate indictments with first-degree bail jumping (Class D felony) for allegedly failing to appear in court after being released from custody.

Other true bills returned by the grand jury include:

* Jason Alley, 25, Marrowbone Creek, Elk-horn City; 12 counts of second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument (Class D felony).

* Erica Bartley, 29, Highway 80, Elkhorn City; and Chad Evan Coleman, 33, Alan Street, Pikeville were charged in a joint indictment with second-degree burglary (Class C felony) and theft by unlawful taking (Class C felony).

Coleman was also char-ged as being a second-degree persistent felony offender (Class B felony) having a 2007 theft by unlawful taking and first-degree bail jumping conviction which was probated for three years and a 1995 theft by unlawful taking conviction which was probated for two years.

* Larry O. Blackburn, 49, Pike-Floyd Hollow, Betsy Layne, Ky.; and Michael Kimmel, 35, Railroad Circle, Betsy Layne, Ky.; first-degree trafficking in controlled substance (Class C felony), second-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (Class D felony) and third-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (Class A misdemeanor).

Blackburn was charged as a first-degree persistent felony offender (Class A felony) having been convicted in a 2005 burglary and theft of controlled substance case, a 1988 Floyd County, Ky., burglary offense, a 1996 Floyd County charge of theft by unlawful taking and criminal mischief and a 1997 fourth-offense driving under the influence and driving on a DUI suspended license charge.

Kimmel was charged as a second-degree persistent felony offender (Class B felony) for 2007 charge of burglary, theft by unlawful taking and criminal mischief.

* Marlania Bryant, 24, Rolling Stone Branch, Teaberry, Ky.; theft by unlawful taking (Class D felony).

* Troy Fields, 44, Left Fork of Island Creek, Pikeville; second-degree burglary (Class C felony) and theft by unlawful taking (Class D felony).

* Jeremy Harris, 23, Motley Road, Feds Creek; second-degree burglary (Class C felony) and second-degree persistent felony (Class B felony) — convicted on a 2006 charge of burglary and theft by unlawful taking.

* Jimmy Jones, age not available, Microfilm Road, Bassett, Va.; flagrant nonsupport (Class D felony).

* Gary D. Lowe, 31, Shelby Dry Fork, Shelbiana; theft by unlawful taking (Class D felony).

* Roger Dean May, 57, Little Hackney’s Creek, Mouthcard; second-degree assault (Class C felony).

* Donnie McClanahan II, 21, Bruce Elliot Drive, Pikeville; second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument (Class D felony).

* Larry Gene Moore II, 22, Mossy Bottom, Pikeville; and Hope Nicole Justice, 24, Second Street, Mossy Bottom, Pikeville; second-degree burglary (Class C felony) and theft by unlawful taking (Class C felony).

* Ronnie D. Morton, 21, Yellow Hill, Elkhorn City; two counts first-degree possession of a controlled substance (Class D felony) and possession of drug paraphernalia (Class A misdemeanor).

* Ronnie J. Mullins, 40, Dorton Jenkins Highway; possession of a firearm by a convicted felon (Class D felony).

* Alisha M. Newsome, 35, Hurricane Creek Road, Pikeville; theft of a controlled substance (Class D felony), two counts of possession of a controlled substance (Class A misdemeanor) and possession of drug paraphernalia (Class A misdemeanor).

* Jeremy Price 313, Island Creek Road, Pikeville; flagrant nonsupport (Class D felony).

* Brandon T. Welsh, 19, Little Creek, Pikeville; second-degree burglary (Class C felony) and second-degree criminal mischief (Class A misdemeanor).

* Bruce Cory Williamson, 29, Stone Coal Road, Pikeville; and Thurman Slone, 47, Gabriel Road, Kimper; receiving stolen property (Class D felony).

Williamson was also charged a second-degree persistent felony offender for a 2003 FNS conviction in Wayne County.
