An unidentified male, described as approximately 6 feet tall with a medium build, entered the store wearing a ski mask and grey hooded sweatshirt while the clerk swept in the front lot on Sunday night. The male suspect took the opportunity to make his way behind the store’s counter according to a report from the Kentucky State Police. After the clerk saw the man and came inside, the thief escaped through the back door.
A witness coming into the Double Kwik around the time of the robbery saw a 1992 Ford F150 with a missing tailgate leaving from the back of the store heading north on US 119.
The convenience store in Meta has been the victim of several robberies in the past, but there is no word on whether the incidents are related.
