She was born July 20, 1942, in Wyandotte, Mich., the daughter of the late Harry Thompson and Ruth Payne.
Shirley was a retired steel mill worker for McClouth Steel in Detroit, Mich., a member of the Master Gardeners, the Belfry (Ky.) Homemakers Club and a faithfull member of the First Baptist Church of Belfry.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Kimberly Renee Johnson of Bowling Green, Ky.; a granddaughter, Whitney Nicole Johnson of Bowling Green, Ky.; and a great grandchild on the way and a host of loving family and friends.
Memorial services will be held at 5 p.m., Monday, Aug. 24, at Grants Branch Park, McVeigh, Ky., with Brother Mark Helton officiating.
