Woman dies in Pike crash

PIKEVILLE, Ky. — A Letcher County, Ky., resident was killed Saturday evening in neighboring Pike County, according to a Kentucky State Police Report.

Sharrae Zimont, 20, of Brushy Fork, Jenkins, was driving on U.S. 23 in the Robinson Creek area when she apparently lost control of her vehicle — a 2003 Ford pickup — overturned it, the report stated.

Pike County Coroner Russell Roberts pronounced Zizmont dead.

KSP Post 9 Trooper J. Jabbard investigated the accident. He was assisted on the scene by Troopers M. Collins and D. Caudill.

Also assisting at with accident in various capacities were DHP Ambulance Service and the Shelby Valley Fire Department, the release said.

The accident is still under investigation by the KSP.
